LITTLEROCK – Two young men were shot and injured in Littlerock Friday, sources said.
A shooting was reported around 11:41 a.m. Friday, April 10, on 100th Street East and Avenue R-8, according to Lt. Johnson of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation and no further information is being released at this time, Johnson said Saturday morning. Johnson did not confirm the number of gunshot victims.
Two males riding in a vehicle were shot at by a gunman in a white sedan at the intersection of 100th Street East and Avenue R-8 in Littlerock, according to a Palmdale Station crime broadcast.
The victims were not at the scene when deputies arrived, according to witnesses. The victims apparently drove themselves home to the 10300 block of East Avenue R-8 and sought help from their neighbor, Jesus.
Jesus said he was returning from the grocery store when he saw the two young men, and they told him they had been shot.
“They asked me if I can take them to the hospital, and I loaded my groceries out of my truck and I put [the victims] in my truck and took them over there to emergency care,” Jesus said.
The good Samaritan transported the victims to South Valley Health Center on 40th East near Palmdale Boulevard.
“Unfortunately, the people over there don’t have emergency care services, so they called 9-1-1 and the ambulance,” Jesus said. “Also, the police came over here to investigate what happened.”
Both victims appeared to be Hispanic males between the ages of 18 and 25. Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The shooting remains under investigation and no further information was available Saturday morning. Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact Palmdale Sheriff’s Station detectives at 661-272-2400.
