PASADENA – A 58-year-old man from Lancaster was arrested Friday night after his car crashed head-on into another in Pasadena as he was being chased by the California Highway Patrol, authorities said. [View an image from the head-on crash here.]

Delfino Eddie Rey is expected to be charged with two counts of DUI and one of felony evasion, according to a CHP arrest report.

The crash happened around 8:10 p.m. Friday, April 10, on the Colorado Boulevard Bridge near San Rafael Avenue, according to CHP Officer Patrick Kimball.

A CHP unit began chasing the Toyota Corolla, at speeds of 10-80 miles per hour, eastbound on the Ventura (134) Freeway after a motorist reported a possible hit and run at 7:52 p.m., according to the arrest report.

The suspect exited the 134 at Figueroa Street, then turned eastbound on Colorado, colliding with a Nissan Maxima at the western end of the bridge at around 8:10 p.m.

Three passengers in the Nissan, including a child were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
