PALMDALE – Palmdale Sheriff’s Station detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in a Jan. 25 shooting that injured a 3-year-old boy.

The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at a mobile home park on the 38000 block of 65th Street East in Palmdale.

Three-year-old Dylan Hernandez was sleeping in his crib inside the residence, when he was struck in the back by an apparent stray bullet that penetrated the exterior wall of the residence, authorities said. Dylan was wrapped in a heavy blanket, which saved him from serious injury.

Dylan sustained a large bruise and small burn, but the bullet did not penetrate his body, detectives said. Another bullet was found lodged in his parents’ mattress.

The unknown gunman fled the area on foot.

Dylan’s family has no known or suspected gang affiliations, detectives said previously.

Detectives are still searching for information regarding this shooting. Any with information on this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Rios at Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at 661-272-2466. To remain anonymous, call LA Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
