People are so quick to judge. From what I’ve heard, the pedestrian was literally running towards the SUV, as in running at it, and that the driver swerved to the right to avoid him only to see the same pedestrian swerve while running to get back into the path of the SUV, and that the driver swerved again, to the left, and thought the pedestrian punched the side of his vehicle. It was night time when this happened, and I really do not think the driver thought he “hit” anyone. He thought the man was running at his vehicle aggressively.

He thought the man punched the side of his SUV. It never occurred to him that it might have been another suicide by motor vehicle. I don’t know if anybody else has noticed people killing themselves by throwing themselves, one way or another, in front of moving vehicles and particularly over the Valentine’s Day weekend.

My point is this. Do not be quick to judge when you don’t have all the facts.

That sign in front of the tracks makes this death all the more ironic.

The story is that Kim & her boyfriend were coming back from some place
She was walking in the middle of the track & her boyfriend on the rail. They heard the metrolink he was able to jump but unfortunately Kim didn’t.
It seems like an accident so that’s why he isn’t to blame.
To what it seems like he doesn’t seem upset

The pedestrian who died Saturday night is my brother Gerald Keith Smith. He was here visiting from Champaigne,IL. He had just arrived Friday.
Our family would appreciate it if he is referred to, by his name. The investigation unknown pedestrian title, doesn’ t suit him.
    Thank you,
    RYS
