LANCASTER – No one was injured when an elderly driver lost control of her vehicle and smashed through an empty storefront in Lancaster Thursday morning, authorities said.

A woman in her 70s was driving through the parking lot when she apparently had a seizure and lost control of her vehicle, according to deputies at the scene. The vehicle mowed down a small tree, sideswiped a truck and then crashed through the storefront next to the AT&T building, deputies at the scene said.

The driver appeared uninjured from the crash, but was transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure due to the suspected seizure.

The elderly driver was unlicensed and had no insurance, according to deputies at the scene.

    Here’s to Jenny,
Hope you are a long ways away from seniorhood
which is in some cases only 55 years old!
I also hope that you are more respectful of your
related seniors as well your siblings and younger people!
Unless your attitude is responsible for your early death,
you will someday be a SENIOR!

WHY ARE SENIORS STILL DRIVING IN THE FISRT PLACE, WE NEED TO TAKE AWAY THE LICENCES, SENIORS KILL A LOT OF PEOPLE BEHING THE WHEELS WORST THAN DUI DRIVERS, SENIOR CITIZENS LICENCES NEED TO BE ROVOKED IN THE AV, FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR KIDS.

Define “senior” in your mind. Also is it possible for younger people to also have seizures?? (Hint: the answer is yes). Doesn’t DMV already take the licenses away from people who have some issue that causes seizures? (Hint: Once again, the answer is yes).

Let’s take away the licenses of people who use all CAPS, and who can’t spell ;_)

      @JENNY JESONICK

The accident was apparently caused by a seizure and not age related. As for being unlicensed and uninsured, that too is not age related.

You shouldn’t be allowed to comment on the ‘internets’ till you learn to read and comprehend American Standard English.

How does that sound for ya? Something tells me that when you are older you will argue the opposite way which is called hypocrisy.

Nobody has respect for laws anymore. Probably isn’t in this country legally either.

It reads UNLICENSED and no insurance. How many calories did you burn jumping to conclusions?

Yes, and in our great state, they can now get a license even if they are here illegally…. But who knows…. They might just not have a license because they have a medical condition that might impair their ability to safely operate a vehicle….
