Man shot to death in Palmdale

PALMDALE – A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in Palmdale Monday night and he died later at the hospital, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 11:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, in the 500 block of East Avenue Q, according to Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“The victim, a 26-year-old man, was inside his garage with three other people, when the suspect unexpectedly started shooting into the garage,” Hernandez stated.

The victim was struck several times by gunfire, according to Hernandez.

“He was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead,” Hernandez stated.

The suspect was not seen and the murder weapon is outstanding, according to Sheriff’s officials.

UPDATED 1/7/15: The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Stephen Antwoine Harris of Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. He was pronounced dead at 1:23 a.m.Tuesday, Jan. 6, coroner’s officials said.
