LANCASTER – Two suspects were arrested in Palmdale Saturday in connection with a Dec. 30 shooting in Lancaster that left a woman wounded, authorities said.
Tyeasha Monique Moore, 37, was arrested at the Thousand Elms mobile home park in Palmdale, while 37-year-old Tehran Cherif Price was arrested near 47th Street East and Avenue R-12 , according to LASD inmate records.
The two are believed to be linked to a shooting that happened shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, in the parking lot of the Super Store, located on Beech Avenue near Avenue H-8 in Lancaster.
A Lancaster hairdresser was shot once in the abdomen as she exited the store, sources said. Witnesses told detectives a masked man in a hoodie ran from the location following the shooting, Captain Pat Nelson of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station said last week. Detectives had a suspect in custody shortly after the shooting; but they said more than one person was believed to be involved, and they appealed to the public for information. (Read more here.)
Detectives caught a break in the case Saturday afternoon.
“They located what they believed to be the vehicle that was used… and sought and obtained a search warrant for the location here in Palmdale where the vehicle was,” Nelson said Saturday. The suspected vehicle left the location as deputies were engaged in surveillance, Nelson said.
“Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop of the vehicle and the driver fled for a short period of time before yielding,” Nelson said. “The driver and a male adult were both taken into custody, and the investigation is continuing.”
Tyeasha Moore of Palmdale was arrested on a warrant for assault with a semiautomatic firearm, while Tehran Price of Northridge was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, LASD inmate records show.
Saturday afternoon, a team of officers could be seen searching Moore’s home on the 4500 block of Table Mountain Road in Palmdale.
Moore allegedly had confrontations with the victim before the Dec. 30 shooting, according to information obtained by The AV Times. The victim, whom friends said is a local hairdresser, took to social media in December with allegations against Moore.
In a Facebook post, the victim accused Moore of robbing and shooting at her six months ago and then brandishing a firearm at her salon on Dec. 20. [View the Facebook post here].
This information could not be confirmed by Sheriff’s officials Monday.
Moore remains jailed on $220,000 bail, while Price is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail, according to LASD inmate records. Both suspects are due in court Tuesday, Jan. 6.
The victim is recovering from her injuries. Anyone with information on the Dec. 30 shooting is urged to contact Detective Rose at Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at 948-8466 or 940-3879.
