Santa’s last appearances at Playhouse, Holiday Party at Library

by The AV Times Staff • December 15, 2014

Santa at Playhouse 1PALMDALE – Santa Claus will be on hand for just two more visits to the Palmdale Playhouse’s popular annual Holiday Open House.

St. Nick will greet children young and old on Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“The Playhouse will be filled with holiday decorations,” said Recreation Supervisor Annie Pagliaro. “Come experience the sights, sounds and scents of the season and relax and enjoy complimentary refreshments.”

The Holiday Open House is free of charge, and photos with Santa are available for $5. The Palmdale Playhouse is located at 38260 10th Street East in Palmdale.

For more information, call the Playhouse at 661-267-5684 or visit www.cityofpalmdale.org/playhouse.

Palmdale City Library to host holiday party

The Palmdale City Library will host its annual Holiday Party this Thursday, Dec. 18.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Library, located at 700 East Palmdale Blvd.

Crafts, snacks, music and fun will be part of the festivities, along with a performance by The AV Showcase Chorus, who will be singing holiday favorites.

Kids will also be able to make ornaments for the Library’s tree, and for their own as well.

“We hope to see you at this festive event,” said Library Director Thomas Vose. “Who knows, maybe Santa himself will even show up!”

The Antelope Valley Showcase Chorus was chartered in Feb. 1960. It changed to Harmony Showcase in the 90’s, and is now a chartered member of Sweet Adelines International, an educational organization promoting four-part harmony for women—barbershop style—with over 25,000 members worldwide.

For more information on the annual Holiday Party, call the Palmdale City Library at 661-267-5600 or TDD 267-5167, or visit www.cityofpalmdale.org/library.
