by The AV Times Staff • November 17, 2014

Fatal crash graphicRESEDA – An 89-year-old Palmdale woman was killed early Sunday morning in a four-car collision is Reseda, authorities said.

Justina Larrea died at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 in the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Larrea was a passenger in a Nissan Altima that was traveling westbound on Victory Boulevard when it was rear-ended by a Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 24-year-old Lorenzo Gonzalez, detectives said.

The Altima then spun out of control and crashed into a Toyota Avalon, which was stopped facing eastbound Victory Boulevard waiting to make a left turn onto northbound Wilbur Avenue, LAPD detectives said in the statement.

The impact caused the Toyota Avalon to collide with a KIA Rio, which was stopped directly to the rear of the Toyota Avalon.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded, and Larrea was pronounced dead at the scene.

Valley Traffic Detectives are looking for additional witnesses to the collision, especially the driver of a white sports sedan.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact detectives at 818-644-8000.
