PALMDALE – An online fundraiser has been set up to help with the funeral expenses for a 20-year-old Lancaster woman killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Palmdale on August 7.
Summer Leah Scott was the passenger in a 1990 Mazda Miata that veered off 40th Street East near Avenue P, struck a dirt embankment and overturned several times.
The driver, 21-year-old Joshua Hernandez, was thrown from the vehicle and survived the crash with serious injuries.
Summer suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. (Read more here.)
Summer’s friend and coworker, Christian Razcon, has set up an online account to help the Scott family in their time of need.
The funds collected will be given to the Scott family to help cover memorial and burial costs for Summer, Razcon said.
“Summer was a kind person, full of joy and always smiling… the kind of person that would brighten up a room as she entered,” Razcon said. “She was very confident and was always willing to help others, expecting nothing in return but a smile and a thank you.”
“[Summer was a] very strong person too, she would not be afraid to tell you when you were wrong,” Razcon added.
