Suspected meth dealer arrested after local traffic stop

LANCASTER – A 44-year-old man suspected of dealing drugs in Lancaster was arrested Wednesday night after deputies conducted a traffic stop and found more than a pound of crystal methamphetamine inside the man’s vehicle, authorities said.

Rigo Chavez was arrested for several counts of possession of a controlled substance for sales and jailed on $2 million bail, according to a press release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:

LAN-CAP Deputies received information regarding Palmdale resident Mr. Rigo Chavez delivering and selling methamphetamine in Lancaster.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the suspect and over 1 ½ pounds of crystal methamphetamine was found inside of the vehicle.

LAN-CAP Deputies served a search warrant at suspect Chavez’s residence [in the 3100 Block of East Avenue R-12 in Palmdale] and located several more pounds of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine for sales, tar heroin for sales, and marijuana for sales.

He was arrested for several counts of possession of controlled substance for sales.

He was transported and booked at Lancaster Station. His bail is set at $2,000,000.

    This man was arrested Wednesday and they are just now reporting it on the avtimes? SMH Almost a week later? Pounds of dope… that is a big win. Yes Uhhohh I don’t think people do understand the significance of this.
    I imagine they were hoping he would talk and since it’s been this long and he probably hasn’t, even after finding what they found at his home, they are releasing this info to the news to bait the big dogs. Now that his name is out in the press like this, I wonder how else it will affect those he’s protecting.

    So what you mean is actually PAC deputies since it was Palmdale. LAN-CAP is Lancaster…

      No genius, the traffic stop occurred in Lancaster. LAN-CAP then got a search warrant and drove to Palmdale to serve it. PAC wasn’t part of this.

      And considering the LAN-cap team arrested the armed robbery suspects in Van Nuys…. They prob work everywhere

    He’s only a suspected dealer so far. He probably was just holding all that stuff for a friend or doesn’t know how it got there :)
