‘Adventures with Food’ starts this Friday

by The AV Times Staff • July 31, 2014

Adventures in Food1PALMDALE – There is still time and spots available to register for the City of Palmdale’s “Adventures with Food” for toddlers class, offering children ages 2 to 4 the opportunity to get their start as “chefs.”

“Adventures with Food” begins on Friday, Aug. 1 and will run through Friday, Aug. 22.

Classes will meet on Fridays from 11 to 11:45 am at the Palmdale Oasis Park Center, 3850 E. Ave. S.

“Youngsters will have the chance to experiment and create crafts with various types of food,” said Recreation Coordinator Becky Bartlett.  “Some of the projects might even be good enough to eat!”

“We’re encouraging parents to participate in the class with their youngsters,” said Bartlett. “It is also a good idea to wear old clothing, too.”

The cost is $19 for Palmdale residents and $23 for non-residents.

Participants may register online at www.cityofpalmdale.org or at the recreation and culture office, 38260 10th St. East in Palmdale, Monday through Thursday between 7:30 am and 6 pm.

For more information, call 661-267-5611.
