Unfortunately a small percentage of citizens chose to use illegal fireworks which resulted in a hefty fine of $2,500.
[On July 4] the fire suppression teams responded to 106 firework calls, issued 34 citations and confiscated approximately 300lbs of illegal fireworks. The confiscated fireworks were taken to Fire Station 129 for disposal.
