Palmdale checkpoint yields one DUI arrest

by The AV Times Staff • June 16, 2014

PALMDALE – One person was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, while three drivers were arrested for driving without a license at a DUI checkpoint in Palmdale this past weekend, authorities said.

The checkpoint location was on Rancho Vista Boulevard at 21st Street West, and it was conducted Friday, June 13 between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The results of the checkpoint are as follows:

1745 vehicles driven through the checkpoint.

1745 drivers checked at the checkpoint.

1 DUI – alcohol suspect arrested.

3 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court.

1 vehicle was released per checkpoint release procedures.

This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in City of Palmdale. Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), checkpoints have provided the most effective documented results of any of the DUI enforcement strategies, while also yielding considerable cost savings of $6 for every $1 spent.

“PAPERS PLEASE”. Soon Drones will fly over your homes, certain keywords on your text, calls, and emails will prompt local LE visits. Wrist band health bands will raise your health premiums because you missed your cardio this week. Think I’m off? This and so much more coming our way. Welcome to the New World Order. Slaves!

Drones don’t scare Bill, their robots. It may cause a crash or two though if the operator has to cover his eyes!
