PALMDALE – The two culprits who robbed a victim at gunpoint at a Palmdale gas station have been caught and charged, authorities said.

Nineteen-year-old Gerald Dickerson and 20-year-old Deonte Strong were charged Tuesday with robbery and vehicle theft. Additionally, Dickerson was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The charges stem from an armed robbery, which occurred around 3:42 a.m., June 1 at the AM/PM gas station and convenience store in the 2300 block of Palmdale Boulevard, according to Lt. Wright of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

“They took the victim’s wallet, car keys, and cell phone,” Wright said, adding that the robbery was captured on video.

About a week later, on June 8, the victim’s car went missing, Wright said.

“They put out a description of the car, and one of our units saw the vehicle, actually, right across from the [Palmdale Sheriff’s] Station,” Wright said. “He stops the vehicle, and he finds the suspect to be in possession of the key that was stolen from the victim a week earlier.”

The suspect, Deonte Strong, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Two hours later, deputies tracked Gerald Dickerson to the E-Z 8 Motel on the 400 block of West Palmdale Boulevard, where they also found a handgun inside the motel room, according to Wright.

Both men remain jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The things people say to each other while hiding behind the anonymity that is their keyboard and computer screen never ceases to amaze me. I’m willing to bet that none of the people that were arguing in previous comments would be willing to step up, show their faces, and verbalize those comments.

First of all. His mother is a very hard worker, so keep your mouth closed about that. He’s grown enough to know what he get’s himself into so shut your mouth about his mother.
Second, she doesn’t receive a state check. What he does is up to him in the end, please leave his mother out of it because she is a very hard worker.
