LANCASTER – An online fundraiser has been set up to help out the family of a five-year-old boy killed in a traffic crash in east Lancaster last week.

Dorian Ramcharam was riding in the backseat of a Chrysler Concorde that was struck by a motorcycle around 8:46 p.m., Thursday, May 15, on Avenue K at 15th Street East.

Sheriff’s officials said the motorcycle was eastbound on Avenue K when the westbound Chrysler Concorde made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. Witnesses at the crash site said both vehicles had a yellow light.

The motorcycle struck the car’s right rear passenger door where Dorian was sitting, and the 5-year-old took the full force of the collision, Sheriff’s officials said.

Dorian died at the hospital a short time later.

How you can help

Family members are raising money to cover the burial expenses for young Dorian, and they’re asking for donations of $5 or more.

“Dorian Ramcharam was [a] fun and vibrant child. Everyone who knew him describes him as an angel… Please help us raise money to properly bury Dorian; anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated,” states the fundraiser page.

To donate to the online memorial fundraiser, visit http://www.gofundme.com/9a61rk.

This page was put up to be a fundraiser for Dorian’s burial. If you absolutely must debate the technicalities of the accident, please take that conversation elsewhere. This is a tragedy. Have some respect for both of their lives by not dragging the blame game to a pg that was put up specifically for donations FOR DORIAN.

@hector… He wasn’t tailgating! The car made a left in front of him on a yellow light! God bless their family & my family too!

Lately I’ve noticed motorcycles speeding and tailgating. Some even do stunts of freeways and small residential streets. Some of the Harley drivers like to tailgate and get upset when u don’t match there speed (speeding).who knows what happened I wasn’t at the scene. But accidents happen and unfortunately people can loose there life. My prayers go out to all involved.

Next time one of these jerks on a motorcycle tailgates you all you have to do is slam on the brakes. That will cure the problem!

That is terrible, please stop writing crap like this when people died as a result of this crash. There was no tailgating, it was not the bikers fault.

It’s obvious the motorcycle wasn’t doing any of that. Not to point fingers but it did say the car made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, that is the one thing I hate most about riding there was not much the bike could of done. Cars need to respect riders a little more
