gunz r danger! says
Wow its a good thing that gun was illegal! Proof right there that CA weapons control laws keep us safe!!!!.
A richards says
Ha ha, so true…. With this increase in gun violence the city should put up more signs that declare the city gun free zones…. That would really make this place a more family friendly city. :)

2 more upstanding citizens taken away from us. “Serge and Dave” spent their weekends helping Senior Citizens at a care facility and were Big Brothers to underprivileged children. They sang in an A Capella group and a barbershop quartet and were known for their popular rendition of Sweet Adeline. They both volunteered at the AV Chihuahua Rescue and contributed to Make-A-Wish. They went to public schools with this gun to demonstrate the dangers of having a gun in the home to “at-risk” children. Sergio held a Master’s Degree in psychology from UCLA and David was working on his Bachelor’s degree in genetic engineering at Cal Tech. They were active in the “Don’t get a Tattoo” Association – in fact Serge was recently elected vice-president of the East Palmdale chapter. What a shame.

Wait a minute, you talk about someone not having an education then go on to say Spanish people are Native American? Native Americans are the true Natives of this country, not the Spanish. The Indians were here a long time beofre the Spanish discovered America.

I used to live right next door to those loosers… When my parents moved me to the AV back in 1987, it was a nice quiet place, but as the years rolled on, more trash moved in… In the early 2000’s I moved to a nice quiet neighborhood on Solvay… But over the course of the last housing boom, the nasty, trashy, drug using, gun carrying crap, wanna-be gangbangers (and their parents) sold their homes in LA and moved to the AV… Bringing their disrespectful kids that didn’t speak any English to my street… I lived next door to them, I know what they are… SO glad I packed my family up and moved to the mid-west…. I haven’t heard spanish in over a year… The only gun shoots are from the shooting range and my son gets a real chance at an education… Yeah, California can burn in hell with all it’s Lib’s… Want to be happy, move to a “RED” state and leave your liberal point of view where you came from…
Marcy says
*losers & stay in the Midwest I don’t even understand why your even worried about a place your not even at
Mar says
You know nothing of who they are. We’re glad you moved away from being the neighbor and instead of assuming know your facts first you ignorant ass person. If you’re so glad you moved away why are you still worried about what happens in the AV? Being racist doesn’t make you any better. Btw, they aren’t disrespectful, just caugh up in crap. and English was their FIRST language. Idiot!
Michael says
Really? I’m racist??? I don’t think you’ve meet me or my family and friends… Yeah, I don’t think so… I did live right next to them, and while the kids might of spoke English, parents did not… My great grandparents came here from Italy and they learned English and just like everyone else did… As far as my first comment on this, well, I really don’t care about what goes on there… A friend of mine sent me this as a link and I thought it was funny how I knew these people… The drug using in the back yard, parties in the abandoned house next to us, cops at all hours… Yeah that whole neighborhood went to crap…
If this is your idea of a good thing, well you really need to rethink things… Yes, I did move my family to a better place with better schools and cheaper cost of living and so on because I want the best for them… Is there something wrong with not wanting my son to get beat up for being white at Palmdale High???
Oh wait did I mention my mother is from Mexico City???
But hey, I didn’t mean to start anything… Love all around… I was just saying it wasn’t hard to see the writing on the wall… I have found that Libs really do like to jump straight to racism, when they really need to take a look at the whole picture… That is why California is in such bad shape…
Your Fellow Neighbor from Solvay says
You should be ashamed of your comments Michael. I am honestly displeased at your distasteful remarks you made about your next door neighbors. Better yet how you call this neighborhood ‘trash’. Say what you want but I grew up in the neighborhood of Solvay and I am proud to say it. Next year, I will be attending graduate school for a masters in advanced physiology, after less than a year ago, receiving a bachelor’s degree in physiological science from UCLA. O yea, and I attended Palmdale High School as well and I don’t remember wanting to beat up my best friend who was ironically, Italian (or white for the non-educated folk). By the way, my first generation latino parents also sold there home in Los Angeles to move me away from an Inglewood gang infested community when I was three, so that I could be afforded the opportunity to live outside a community where there was actually, and I quote you, “drug using in the back yard, parties in the abandoned house[s], and cops at all hours.” Your description of Solvay made our street, my street, sound like a war zone when I can recall playing basketball and football with my buddies daily, including David (and possibly you), where I was never once hit by a stray bullet or offered meth.
People make mistakes and I am not saying I condone the actions of Sergio or David but I think a more important issue this situation addresses is how everyone, including you, are so quick to judge. Instead of calling these individuals ‘trash’ or ‘losers’ why don’t we dare ask why weren’t these kids given an opportunity to higher education but instead found it a necessity to deal meth in order to get by? Is this a failure of them, their parents, or encompassing all the above, a failure of the American Government? (No this is not a race issue so don’t jump to conclusions as I’m sure you are after reading that).
However, thank you for your comments. Its ignorant perspectives like yours that have me pushing to continue my pursuit of becoming a doctor of medicine (MD) so I can come back to these underserved communities and give the next generation of children and families a tangible example of self-made success. Unlike you, I will not flee from the community that embraced my youthful years… Instead I will find a way to come back and make a difference. What are you doing to make one?
I really don’t care to read your response so reread my comment a few more times so you can enjoy my rhetoric
crazee laly says
Well said, Sergio nd David r my cousins and people do make mistakes..may God bless them…people shouldnt make remark if they don’t know them….
Brian says
I am both angered and disgusted by your comments Michael. As a family friend I am well aware of what the situation is and the continued hardships the family has been going through because of their son’s actions. Your comments are rude, disrespectful and ill advised. Of course you are quick to judge and jump to conclusions without knowing the true story behind what the family has done to find help for their misguided sons. Both parents are hardworking individuals who like most Americans, work to support their children and give them a better life. They tried their best to raise their children and teach them right from wrong. Unfortunately two of them, fell into the path of drugs and could never truly conform into society, they are not perfect, no one is. As a former neighbor, you should be supportive when your neighbor is in need, instead you come on the comment board and spew hatred towards them, way to kick a man when he’s down.
I too was one of those kids who would come by the block and play with the rest of the children, never once did I feel threatened or in danger, or even offered drugs. I went to college and earned my degree in Civil Engineer, I now work for a consulting group that helps design solutions for the cities aging infrastructure. Another one of those kids is now pursuing a Doctorate degree in Medicine from UCLA, and most of the other kids that I still keep in contact from the block are doing quite well for themselves. Now imagine that, your children could have grown up with good kids, future Engineers and Doctors. How unfortunate, you couldn’t come to terms with a diverse community; you saw colored people moving in and ran off to the boonies. Sad really, your kids would have grown up in a great neighborhood and would have been immersed with different cultures; they could have attended some of the best university in the U.S. and would have lived in a state with wonderful weather, instead there out in the good ol’ range shooting at beer cans and squirrels.
It’s funny your former neighbors, which you spoke so poorly of, would have never expected those comments from you. I suppose it’s easier to come out with your true feelings behind a computer screen than it is face to face with someone. At the end of the day your feelings are your feelings, you are free to say whatever you feel, whenever you want, but when someone calls you a racist to don’t jump to deny it! Your own written words clearly illustrate that you are a bigot, at least be man enough to admit it, be proud of your ignorance. I have more respect for a clan member who voices his opinion without regard, then cowards who hide such as yourself.
For those of you who have commented I applaud you, and I encourage anyone else who knows about the neighborhood to comment as well. It gives the reader a better perspective about the story, and brings to light the lies and exaggerated claims from racist’s pigs that have only hateful views from an otherwise good neighborhood.
Regards,
Brian

See a parolee on the streets of the AV…..thank a liberal!
Concerned says
Let’s all thank Jerry Brown and the rest if the liberals in Sacramento!
the voice of sanity says
WTF does Jerry Brown and the “liberals in Sacramento” have to do with this? He’s a armed drug dealer- bad news for the streets and our kids. The cops actually did something right locking him up. Would you rather he still be on the streets, free to sell drugs that are destroying our kids and community? IDIOT!
Concerned says
Wow. Idiot, that’s a big word! Did you have to look it up? The point is the guy is a convicted felon. Did you happen to catch that I’m the article? I am willing to bet the guy was of Browns early release program. Catch up current events before you make yourself look ignorant again friend.
Aaron Horrocks says
The SKS is not an ‘Assault Rifle’. It is a semi-automatic rifle that, in it’s original configuration, has a 10-round non-detachable magazine. The rifle pictured above shows a modified one, that appears to have the 30 round magazine conversion to it. I like how they swung out the bayonet to make it look more scary. Honestly, I’ve never seen these bayonets sharpened, and they’re duller than a butter knife.
Eric says
Under California law, if you strap a flash suppressor, a butt stock, and a magazine to a broom, you have an “assault rifle”.
