LANCASTER – A domestic dispute in Lancaster Tuesday morning ended with a 25-year-old woman engulfed in flames, authorities said.
Her boyfriend, 28-year-old Dontae Walker, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and arson, according to a press release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:
[Around 7:41 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18], Lancaster deputies responded to the 2000 Block of Thomas Drive for a domestic violence call.
An argument between the suspect (Dontae Walker of Lancaster) and the victim (25 year-old female of Lancaster) had occurred, and the suspect ignited a pile of the victim’s clothes with an unknown flammable liquid in the front yard.
The victim attempted to extinguish the fire, but she also became engulfed in the flames. She sustained 3rd degree burns on 20% of her body and was immediately transported to a local hospital.
The suspect was arrested at the residence and charged with domestic violence and arson.
He was booked at Lancaster Station Jail and held on $250,000 bail. The Sheriff’s Arson/Explosives Detail responded and took over the investigation.

I know the suspect and the victim. All of your assumptions are wrong. People really should not speak on something they know nothing about

This woman is going to have a slow, painful, rough road back to a healthy state.

It’s really a shame that this is the kind of trash that calls this Valley home now, after so many years of it being a fun, peaceful and nice place to raise a family!
My only hope is that the price of housing keeps going up and the landlords keep selling their rental homes!
Irena says
Why do you assume that they were renting?

There have always been plenty of dirt bags in the AV. You just have easier access to information now.

So this guy is suspected of starting a fire? Maybe boyfriend (Dontae) found her stash of “cheater, hooker clothes” and wanted to get her to move out and get rid of the clothes. She chose to jump on the fire.
On the other hand, maybe he has been asking her to get out for awhile and decided it was time to get her out. Again, she chose to jump on the fire.
Maybe, he beat the crap out of her and threw her and her clothes out and set them on fire. She chose (again) to jump on the fire.
I don’t endorse the fire setting or domestic violence, but there seems to be a few holes in the story.
As says
And your story fills all those holes right? Wow lol
Sweetie says
Awesome. Now I know who the FB police is. I think everyone is allowed to express their own opinions.
alexa says
Sweetie– I hope you can find a positive outlet for all that poison running through you.
sweetie says
@As, no, my examples of possible scenarios certainly do not fill in the holes.
@alexa, poison? Offering possible scenarios is poison? You should know that just because she caught herself on fire by jumping on the fire…does not mean he wanted her to jump on the fire. That was on her. Maybe they have a history of domestic violence and maybe not. Maybe she was so angry at him, she wasn’t in her right mind. Poison, no poison here. Really.
alexa says
sweetie– This woman is in the hospital with 3rd degree burns over 20% of her body. She has a very painful recovery ahead of her and all you can do is run down possible scenarios. Yes you are filled with poison. God bless this poor woman.
Sweetie says
@alexa. And God Bless you for being so negative and argumentative.
I bet she won’t do that again. On the other hand, without therapy, she will probably go right back with him.
As says
The negative one has been you sweetie. Out of all the scenarios you came up with they were all negative. The story states she attempted to extinguish the flames, it doesn’t say how. But maybe you were there and you saw her jump on them. That would explain your story.
I've seen it all says
You two are out there. The story only says he was arrested for Domestic Violence & Arson. The story is VERY unclear about any facts. So’s here my scenario. Some type of pushing/shoving/hotting occurred. The Domestic Violence charge. The story says he took her clothes out to the lawn and set them on fire. Thats the Arson Charge. Had he actually set her on fire, they would have charged him with attempted murder. Still not sure what you two were going on about?
LASO says
Sweetie- you seem to have an awful lot of knowledge about this case that you should share with the Cops if you think he is so innocent. Might help to get him off the charges, so he can be free to do this to ANOTHER woman.
IDIOT!
Irena says
Even forcing someone to leave is a crime. You have to file a formal unlawful detainer (eviction).
Sweetie says
Yeah, because those are easy to get in the snap of your fingers, and even harder to enforce.
In a perfect world, he would have packed his own stuff and left with no contact!
Most young children know not to jump on a fire to put it out. Rage or anger, do funny things to people. (both)
Lae says
They arent hard to enforce at all. Deputies show up and MAKE you leave.
elias says
Because of Dontae Walkers actions; this 28 yr. old chooses to set his girlfriends clothes on fire, and because of his actions, a young woman is in the hospital with third degree burns. Setting a persons clothes on fire is abuse and there should be severe consequences for his actions. He should also be made to pay restitution to this woman for her pain and suffering.
elias says
Setting clothes on fire is all about control, and control is a destroyer.
Sweetie says
Arson for setting a fire and at the most vandalism for burning the clothes. I think burning the clothes was an anger response and yes all about control. At least he didn’t beat her up. Clothes can be replaced and he’ll probably buy her new clothes when this all gets straightened out. (a smidge of sarcasm)

WTF is wrong with people.
