CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive a huge success

by The AV Times Staff • December 24, 2013

CHiPs for Kids Gil Hernandez

Local California Highway Patrol officers reached out to the public for donations, and the Antelope Valley community answered the call.

The local CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive exceeded its goal of collecting 4,000 toys to be distributed to disadvantaged children in the Antelope Valley this Christmas.

“Thanks to the community of the Antelope Valley and all those involved in the CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive 2013, we were able to collect 4,570 toys,” stated CHP officer Gil Hernandez.

If you were one of the many residents who dropped an unwrapped toy into one of the CHiPs for Kids boxes at various locations around the Antelope Valley, pat yourself on the back. You deserve it!
