‘Miracle on 47th Street’ parade set for Saturday

The Theme Trophy went to the Palmdale School District English Learners Advisory Committee in the 2011 Christmas parade. This year’s parade will feature more than 100 entries.

PALMADLE— Holiday-themed floats, school marching bands, community queens,  Santa Claus and more will be featured this Saturday at Palmdale’s annual Christmas parade.

Miracle on 47th Street is the theme for the 2013 William J. ‘Pete’ Knight Palmdale Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade, presented by the Palmdale Auto Mall Supercenter.

The parade starts at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14.  at Avenue R and 47th Street East. The parade will travel south on 47th Street East and end on Avenue S.

It will feature more than 100 entries with Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford as Grand Marshal, according to organizers.

“It will be lots of fun, and it will be a ‘Miracle on 47th Street!’” said Parade Committee Chair Kimberly Spezze.
