EDWARDS AFB – Tis’ the season of giving and the Edwards Airman’s Attic received a sizeable gift this week from the Lancaster Rotary Club.

The club donated more than a thousand dollars’ worth of new kitchenware, holiday decorations, bath towels, food containers and sports equipment to the attic.

“Last year we received $1,000 to buy items for the Airmen here at Edwards; this year we received $1600,” said Kent Sellon of the Lancaster Rotary Club.

The Edwards First Sergeants Association will help distribute the goods to those Airmen in need.

The Airman’s Attic’s mission is to help out those Airmen who may need some help in furnishing their homes or purchasing items for their families.

“We operate on donations so the more items we get the better,” said Japhia Logan, Airman’s Atttic lead volunteer.

For ranks O-3 and under, items in the attic are free.

The store is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. On the first Saturday of each month, the Airman’s Attic is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to all ranks and retirees.

For more information, call the Airman’s Attic at 661-277-2246.
