UPDATED 12/4/13:  THREE CHILDREN ALLEGEDLY ABDUCTED

Detectives now say Nisshawn Murphy is wanted for abducting her three children. They are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Matisse, Bryan and Treasure Murphy.

Detectives say Nisshawn Murphy was ordered to relinquish Bryan and Treasure in court on Nov. 19. She failed to appear in court, and DCFS obtained warrants for the children and a no bail warrant for Murphy, detectives said.

Bryan Murphy is a 4-year-old black male, approximately 3’1” and 31 lbs. Treasure Murphy is a 4 year-old black female approximately 2’9” and 27 lbs.

UPDATED 12/4/13 @ 2:30 pm: CHILDREN SAFELY RECOVERED, MOTHER STILL OUTSTANDING

At approximately 10:30 a.m., a friend of Nisshawn Murphy, who was unaware of the abduction until she saw an alert from Palmdale Sheriff Station, returned all three children to LAPD-Southeast Division.

Nisshawn Murphy is still outstanding. No further information was immediately available.

    as a foster youth I can say there are wonderful people taking in troubled youth like my self . who give there all to improve our way of life. but there are a few homes that are evil. because the system is broken things get missed. my own kids were taken for me protecting them from there father because he was high on meth. they wouldn’t give my kids back due to my record with the law. so I faught for my kids not to get them back but to get them adopted by people who will love and care for them even if I cant see them intill they turn 18. it is hard as a parent to do what is right for the child and not what you want for u.

    There is no way foster parents foster kids for money. Thats for sure!!!! but i do agree the system is beyond broken. Social workers have to much power. Kids get lost in the mix. its a sad story all the way around. unless anyone has foster a child from DCFS please do not accuse foster parents of doing it for the money. they give you less then what you need to just feed them a month let alone clothe them. that does not include the cost of every bill in the house going up, or the time the kids need. Foster parenting is in no means a way to get rich

      There’s a reason why she doesn’t have her children! Abducting them it’s not the proper way to handle the issue!!! Now she’s wanted for kidnapping!theres ways to go about getting your children back! Now she’s probably won’t get her children back! I feel bad for them kids. Not saying the foster program don’t work but many foster parents only do it for the money they get for them kids. Once the kid is an adult, foster parents don’t want them no more because there not getting funded! Like anything in this world, there’s good people an bad people!

        I can promise you as a foster parent that they can’t pay you enough money to offset all the things we see and live through to help these children. Also the money you receive is to help clothe these kids b/c I promise you they come to us in the middle of the night with nothing and I mean nothing!!!! They need to go to the doctor bc obviously they were not taken care of at all. So I would like to say very few do it for money b/c at the end of the month foster parents are by far in the red. You can’t get rich being a foster mommy but you get a huge blessing when you see the child thrive.

    Ya, you never know, as long as DCFS is involved, who knows. They are more likely to kill a kid in the system, especially in Los Angeles, it makes them money.

      DCFS does not step in enough – children don’t have rights and if this mother would kidnap her children and put them through that what is she doing while not being monitored by the state. DCFS cannot take the child unless there is severe neglect or abuse!!!! The state does not make money to see a child lose their life or by taking them into custody. Very uneducated statement!

        You are very naive if you thing only severely abused and neglected children get taken from their parents. I have seen kids seized and removed from their parents for months when a nasty neighbor or family member makes false accusations and little to no real investigations are done. Often reports list gossip and lies as facts because workers are too overloaded to properly investigate. On the flip side I have seen a daughter returned to her dad after he admitted molesting her two step sisters. The system is broken. Both children and parents can be victims of this broken system

          >Know the facts;

          I totally agree with what you wrote. Why do some people think that ONLY severely abused or neglected children are the ones that are taken away?
          It seems that in some cases the ones who should be taken away from horrid mom/dad/mom & current flavor of the month…are not taken and the “home/residence” is never investigated, whereas the parent/parents of some children who are not abusive and neglectful- do indeed have their kids taken away.
          Yes, the system is definitely broken.
          As for what this woman’s criminal convictions are and the reasons her children were taken away, hasn’t been explained- so therefore I cannot form an opinion about her actions.
          She still was in the wrong for how she went about taking her children, thus making future attempts to get her children back, much more difficult and a lot longer time they will be spending in the foster care system.
