Childrens Center of AVLANCASTER – The Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley is calling on kind-hearted residents to help make Christmas wishes come true for the people in our community who struggle to make ends meet.

The organization is still collecting donations for its Love & Wishes program, which provides gifts of clothing and toys to families served by the Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley.

In order for families to receive their gifts in time for the holidays, the gifts need to be delivered well in advance of Friday, December 13.

Individuals, families, churches and community or office groups can all participate as sponsors.  Gifts can be wrapped (and tagged) or not, or contributions can be made in the form of gift cards, cash or checks. The program allows contributors to specify the size of the family they’d like to sponsor.

Participants will be given information about families and their specific needs. However, the Children’s Center is required to maintain confidentiality, so they cannot provide specific names to donors.

Deliveries are accepted at the Children’s Center, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 45111 N. Fern Avenue, on the corner of Jackman Street in Lancaster.

According to Board members and program co-chairs, Linda Petrik and Shelley Sorsabal, “this family-to-family outreach helps us make Christmas wishes come true for our neediest client families.”

Those wanting to participate in the Love & Wishes program can call the Children’s Center at 661-949-1206.
