Holiday safety presentation for seniors

senior safety holidayPALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s public safety and community relations department will host a Holiday and Personal Safety presentation for seniors this week.

The presentation begins at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Legacy Commons for Active Seniors, located at 930 E. Avenue Q-9 in Palmdale.

The event is free and open to the public.

Geared for seniors, the presentation will teach basic safety and security tips on various holiday situations, including:

  • Shopping,
  • Home security,
  • Protecting your personal information while shopping,
  • Holiday traveling and more.  

“The holidays are a wonderful time for most, but a criminal act can put a damper on the fun,” said Palmdale’s Crime Prevention Officer Kery German. “It is important to know how to protect yourself, and this presentation will give you helpful hints so you are not a ‘soft target’ for holiday criminals,” she added.
