"Not only are you coming out to watch a good concert, but you're coming out to give back to the people who have already given to you," said Jay Bonanno, whose band, Runaway, will be performing.
“You’re coming out to give back to the people who have already given to you,” said Jay Bonanno, whose band, Runaway, will be performing.

Music will be provided by popular local musical acts including Vagrant X (Classic Rock Band), Runaway (country), and Joel Hatcher Band (Rhythm and Blues).

“Vagrant X is a very patriotic Rock band with ties to the military, aerospace and NASA,” said Galvao. “Each member either has served in a US Military branch, or has children who are actively servicing or-have served in a branch of the US Military. You can expect to hear the Star Spangled Banner at every Vagrant X show.”

The “core” of Vagrant X was formed in 2000 and has been actively performing in the Antelope Valley for more than 13 years. Band member include: Gary Nichols, guitar and vocals; Jessie Calzada, percussions and vocals; “Scary” Larry Kahn, guitar and vocals; and Ret. USAF Major Tom Miller Bass, guitar and vocals.

Runaway formed in 2010 after lead guitarist Jim Hinds, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and protégé of jazz guitar gurus Linc Chamberland and Ted Greene, and Jay Bonanno, a 26-year musical prodigy and part-time high school soccer coach, decided to break away from the stress of their day jobs as Los Angeles air traffic controllers to collaborate in writing, recording, and playing music during their off time.

Upon deciding to form a band, Jim and Jay reached out to Jay’s father, Doug Bonanno, a retired carpenter and music veteran with over 52 years’ experience as a lead and backup vocalist and rhythm guitarist. The father-son duo makes for the signature harmonies that contribute to the band’s distinctive sound. Multi-talented Jim Deverian, a general contractor with over 30 years of musical experience playing rhythm guitar, bass and percussion was next to join the group on drums.

Ruben Gutierrez, owner of an urban planning and commercial real estate consulting firm put the finishing touches on the group with solid driving bass lines. Inspired by the British Rock invasion in the mid-1960’s, Ruben plays upright, fretted, and fretless five-string electric basses and rounds out the band’s three part harmonies.

The Joel Hatcher Band, while being primarily a Blues band, plays a variety of roots American music. The sounds of New Orleans Funk, Soul, and Blues based Rock primarily from the 60′s and 70′s are all in the mix. From Stevie Ray Vaughan to Stevie Wonder, T-Bone Walker to Marshall Tucker, the band is dedicated to playing the blues and all those soulful sounds that came from the blues
