LANCASTER – More than 100 bikers gathered at Antelope Valley Harley Davidson Saturday morning for a ride through the Antelope Valley in honor of California officers who have lost their lives in service.

The “Ride for The Fallen, Families Left Behind” Poker Run brought together men and women, stretching from Bakersfield to Temecula. The event raised over $2,500 for the families of California officers who have lost their lives in service.

“Up until 2 a.m. last night, I had my doubts if it was going to work out,” said Tom Bryant, event organizer. “Now I ‘m really happy with it.”

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Organization for Families Left Behind.

Palmdale City Councilmember Steve Hofbauer said that those gathered Saturday were a “brotherhood” and that every nickel raised would help someone hurting and in need.

“You have to take care of the families,” said Hofbauer. “We’re here for those who can’t be here.”
