Deputy-involved shooting death in Littlerock

LITTLEROCK – Homicide detectives are on scene right now investigating the circumstances surrounded a deputy-involved shooting in Littlerock this morning that left one man dead.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. Thursday (June 27) at a home in the 36600 block of 117th Street East.

One suspect was hit by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene, and no deputies were injured in the incident, according to a press report by the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.

It appears deputies may have been trying to serve a search warrant or conducting a compliance operation, because several deputies dressed in black were at the scene and a mobile command post was nearby. However, this information has not been confirmed and authorities have not released any details about what led to the shooting.

The shooting death was the second one in Littlerock Thursday morning.

Homicide detectives responded to an earlier double shooting around 12:08 a.m. in the 35700 Block of 82nd Street East in Littlerock, authorities said.

One man was shot dead at the scene and a woman was shot and wounded, a sheriff’s press report states. The woman was taken to a local hospital where her condition was unknown as of late Thursday morning.

KTLA reports that the shooting may have stemmed from a family dispute, and that the alleged shooter was a relative. No suspects have been arrested in the shooting, and no further information is available at this time.

The victims have not been identified in either Littlerock shooting deaths, pending next of kin notifications.

UPDATED @ 12:30 p.m., 6/27/13: Sheriff’s homicide detectives have released more information about the double shooting that occurred just past midnight in the 35700 Block of 82nd Street East in Littlerock. Detectives say the victims were boyfriend and girlfriend, and they lived with the alleged shooter. The couple had an argument with the suspect, who retrieved a firearm and shot both victims, detectives said. The man died at the scene and his girlfriend was treated for non life-threatening injuries. The shooter is still at large. We’ll have more information in a separate story later today.

    listen the AV is getting to be a bad place to live. the Lancaster Dogg Pound is bad . I have no trust in the Sheriffs Department

    I had meet several calls to the Lancaster dog pound for a stray dog. always loose on the property three to four calls a week since April. June 12 I was bitten by that dog several calls today me to the dog pound for an investigation no officer came out to make a report June 26. someone finally came out to make a report I asked the dispatch if these people are at yum yum donuts. taking coffee breaks too many times a day because u12 to June 26 to make a report is outrageous. no faith in Lancaster or Palmdale the mere needs to step up and see what’s going on 32 3333 14 12
