LAKE HUGHES – Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations whose property was damaged or destroyed by the Powerhouse Fire.

A U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center opened today (June 26) in Lake Hughes.

The center will be open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., until Thursday, July 11. However, the center will be closed on July 4 for the Independence Day Holiday.

SBA staff will be on hand at the center to issue loan applications, answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help individuals complete their applications. No appointment is necessary.

The SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center is located at Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Union Elementary School at 16633 Elizabeth Lake Road in Lake Hughes.

Charging “small interest” simply adds more insult to the already injured! Help should be free. Why profit from victims.
