Defending Jacob is Mystery Book Club selection

by The AV Times Staff • April 29, 2013

Defending JacobPALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library’s Mystery Book Discussion Group “Mystery, Murder and Mayhem” will discuss the book Defending Jacob by William Landay on Wednesday, May 15th, at 7 pm at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway.

Andy Barber has been an assistant district attorney in his suburban Massachusetts county for more than 20 years.  When a shocking crime shatters their New England town, Andy is blindsided by what happens next: his 14-year-old son is charged with the murder of a fellow student.  As the crisis reveals how little a father knows about his son, Andy will face a trial of his own—between loyalty and justice, between truth and allegation, between a past he’s tried to bury and a future he cannot conceive.

The Mystery, Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Discussion Group meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm, at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center.  The group is open to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

The discussion also provides disabled access with 72 hours’ notice.  To request special aids for the disabled or for more information, call the Palmdale City Library at 61/267-5600 or TDD 661/267-5167.
