LANCASTER – Authorities are searching for clues to identify human remains found in the middle of a desert field near a Lancaster intersection.

A passerby made the discovery around 6:19 p.m. Thursday at Division Street and East Avenue H, according to a statement by the Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the non-residential area to investigate the circumstances and were still on scene Friday.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office was contacted to collect the remains in an attempt to determine the cause of death.

Only a partial skeleton was found, and neither the gender nor age of the victim is known at this point, coroner’s officials said Friday.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. TO provide information anonymously, call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

Used to be some homeless encampments out this way that were busted up last summer by LASO. I wonder if these remains were of some homeless person that wandered off into the desert.

      Unless
#1. the kid was adopted and starved or beat to death by the adopted mother.Since nobody checks on those kids, no one missed her or him and the adopted mother dumped the body….
#2 Homeless people wouldn’t be out in the open. They have camps sites setup under trees and bushes.
#3 a prostitute being taken between Bakersfield, Disneyland and Vegas, got out of line with her pimp and he killed her and dumped the body. Who’s gonna report her missing.
#4 Teenager lured from home over the internet meets the person and gets killed and dumped. Police treat it like a runaway situation so they don’t investigate, and tell parents their kid will show up.
#5 Old person doesn’t want to be a burden to their family, so they pay their bills and walk off into the desert and lay down and die.

      Could be anyone. Sad. RIP
