Quarterly luncheon to focus on current topics

The “Topics Luncheon” is held every three months and provides a starting place for conversations on issues that can be highly controversial.

PALMDALE – Informed, spirited and enlightened discussion is on the menu for the next “Topics Luncheon” sponsored by the League of Women Voters Antelope Valley.  The quarterly roundtable lunch discussion will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, at the Palmdale Hotel, 300 West Palmdale Boulevard.

Each table will have a different topic and be moderated in order to ensure respectful and helpful discussion. Topics for the luncheon include:

  •  Local Government Living Within Their Means- No “Fiscal Cliffs” allowed.
    Hosted by Palmdale Mayor James Ledford, and Palmdale Planning Commissioner Patricia Shaw.

“These luncheons provide a starting place to really begin a conversation on issues,” said Denise Latanzi, LWVAV president.  “It’s the first step sometimes in finding that middle ground on issues that can be highly controversial.”

The cost of the Luncheon is $20, and seating is limited. RSVP on the LWVAV Facebook here.

Admission can be prepaid at www.lwvav.org by credit card. Cash or check will be accepted at the door.
