Pair pleads not guilty in Palmdale stabbing

PALMDALE – Two men charged with stabbing a man to death in an apartment complex parking lot in east Palmdale have pleaded not guilty.

Thirty-six-year-old Alfred Crowder and 23-year-old Jonathan Duke entered their pleas in an Antelope Valley courtroom Tuesday, in connection with the death of 26-year-old Victor Miguel Enriquez, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

Around 11:14 p.m. on Oct. 17, Enriquez was found on the ground, with multiple stab wounds to the torso, in the parking lot of the Sonoma Apartment Homes in the 38500 Block of 11th Street East, officials said. Enriquez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crowder was arrested for the murder two days later. About a week after Crowder’s arrest, Duke was also arrested for the crime.

Detectives have not released a motive for the stabbing, and are still investigating the connection between the victim and the suspects, according to lead detective Holly Francisco.

At Tuesday’s court hearing, Crowder was ordered back to custody on $1 million bail, while Duke was ordered held on $1,050,000 bail.

Both men are due back in court on Monday, November 19, for a preliminary hearing on the case.
