  1. I would like to point out (as a food stamp recipient and an SSI recipient due to a permanent disability), that the next four years are going to realy force our country to the ground! Though I am one that relies on government money, I vote Republican! Under Republicans, I receive my help at a living rate that helps, my family that owns businesses earn the money they are entitled to rather than having to pay more tax, etc. Also, under Obama these past four years, my disability check has been cut more than any other time and so were my “food stamps.” Instead of a small cost of living raise yearly if needed, we has our money cut! So these idiots that thought they would lose their EBT funds if Obama didn’t win are obviously unintelligent and undeserving of any assistance due to their own ignorance. Also, I do not own firearms, BUT i am a believer in OUR constitution and stand behind the second ammendment, oh but wait, those that voted for Obama to keep their EBT probably have illega firearms so they don’t care anyway. I am truly beside myself that so many ignorant folks vote without research or paying attention to their own pocketbook and the history of who puts money in it!

          I can also rightfully assume that many people voted AGAINST Obama for the same reason — because he’s black. Take a cruise through some of the fringe right wing websites, and you will see thousands of comments from people who think a n—– should not be in the white house. You really think these people give a damn about policies? You think these people should a cast a vote against someone because of the color of their skin?

          I submit to you that perhaps just as many people voted against Obama because he’s black as the people who voted for Obama because he’s black, so I guess things got evened out in the end.

          When it boils down to it, it’s their vote and if they want to use it in an ignorant fashion, that’s their right. That’s all I’m saying. But making it into a black issue is pretty ignorant too. It shows a bit of prejudice on your part.

          I work damn hard for a living too. And the majority of my inner circle – which includes educators, engineers, CPA’s,and attorneys – we all voted for Obama because we read through his plan for the next four years and we agreed with it. We voted against Romney because we disagree with his policies. It’s that simple. Now stop being a contradiction.

          If it’s not about race then stop calling out the “brothuas and sistias” you saw at the polling place and ASSuming these people have no clue with any facts to back it up.

          • So if you’re a hard working guy, making a decent living (and I have no doubt that you are), why do you want to vote for a guy who’s policy is to give more free stuff to poor people? Don’t you want to keep more of your hard earned dollars in return for less of those dollars going to the poor? Conservatives believe that giving less to them actually helps them get out of their situation. It forces them to help themselves. Giving them more keeps them down, because it’s easy to live for free.             @Otto, where do you guys get this thing about Obama giving away free stuff to poor people?? Everyone keeps repeating it, but I haven’t seen a shred of evidence to back it up.

            For the last four years under Obama, my financial situation remained the same. That’s not great news, but it’s not terrible either.

            I have seen evidence that Romney was planning on giving tax cuts to the wealthy that would require large tax increases on people making between $100-$200K. Since Romney’s plan negatively affects people in my income bracket, it’s a no brainer for me to vote against him. Never mind that I also disagree with his stance on abortions, gay marriage, and other issues.

            I am a black person yes, but I’m a black person that made my choice for president based on research and a well-thought out process. I can’t speak for everybody else. But as I said before, everyone only gets one vote each, and it’s theirs to do with as they please. Regardless of what Concered(sic) might think.

Is giving unemployment payments to citizens who’s job was shipped over seas giving free stuff? or is it making sure a family is not homeless? Is giving food stamps and medical insurance, free stuff? Especially to those citizens that worked for the past 20-30 years and paid into those systems for times like these? The states that rely on the auto industry, decided this election.
            Mitt, made it very clear he would have let those jobs be lost and I guess those families would have just been s—t out of luck and god forbid, they would need food stamps to eat and Medi-caid to take their sick children to the doctor?

            Those lazy people living off the system,more than likely did not vote, it was hard working people who voted for what was best for our country at this time. I do not even know how those people getting free stuff manage to drive Mercedes and live in mansions (lol). Middle class families of the past are now,the new poor class.
            It is true that giving one less, should motivate them to help themselves but there are many college graduates that can’t find jobs. Maybe if all the jobs shipped overseas came back to the states , we could get some of those lazy poor people to work. Maybe Mitt might know how to go about returning those jobs to the states, since he helped to send them there?

        • How come you and other conservatives don’t complain when the government gives money to landlords and developers for Section 8 rentals to subsidize their rents so they don’t have to compete on the open market for a lesser amount.

          In fact, I never hear any republicans wail about the money going to the renters of Section 8. How come?

          I’m guessing that many of the people who rent Section 8 homes, condos or apartments might vote republican and don’t want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

          Instead, they go after the people who use the Section 8 vouchers like ol’ Rex does in Lancaster which is fine as far as fraud is concerned. But, the landlords sucking big bucks from the government are ignored.

          Say you’ve got a 5 bedroom, 3 bath home with POOL in Lancaster to rent to Section 8 people. Look in the AV classifieds sometime. The renter pays a couple of hundred dollars a month on a $1,700/month house and the landlord gets $1,200-$1,400 dollars a month. Doesn’t that use of your hard-earned taxpayer money concern you? It does me.

          But, notice that republicans don’t bitch about that probably cause they are on the receiving end.

If you look at what percentage of each race is on welfare, incarcerated or abuse children there is one race that wins them all… And no im not racist, to the contrary it outrages me that blacks allow themselves to be manipulated by democrats who want them enslaved to government aid so they can count on their votes…

        • Well you are aware that I am a percentage guy, but when you look at the demographic, 1 percent of white greatly outweighs 1 percent of black. So essentially you are paying for more white welfare and a higher number of white people. The fact that you do not mention white welfare recipients being manipulated by the democratic party only further raises the question of your alleged non-racism. Let’s face it, there are manipulators, and there are those in dire need. What needs to happen is true welfare reform. More regulation on it, specified timeframe to be on it, and not starting over the timeframe every time a child is born. I’m all for reform on those grounds, i do not condone laziness or dependence. Now you do not care that your tax dollars are funding US invasion of other countries and murder? I certainly do. The problem is us Taxpayers have no say in where our dollars are going. That is something worth revolting over. No taxation without representation, but of course the representation will never suit everybody’s prefrences. It is what it is, big money will always sway politicians, save Ron Paul and a select other few. If you don’t like something, change it, if you can’t change it, change the way you think about. My above response was because blacks specifically are sold a line of goods when it comes to welfare and social issues. This has fed the destruction of their race. Anyone on welfare should be required to do something for 8 hours a day. Sitting at home waiting for a check is ludacris. I have personally seen people who recieve welfare and Medi cal while living in a section 8 home and attending college on government grants. That is lunacy. We should also make people sign a clause that says we will not fund any new children and further if you have a child while on welfare you lose all benefits.

Because everyone that I know, every business owner or hardworking person, NONE OF THEM voted for socialist obammas! And still obammas wins, and that tells me one thing – lazy welfare rats voted, a lot of them did, and Romney was right about 47% – there is nothing we can do about them, all those illegals, pot smokers, f.a.g.s, baby killers, all that trash will never vote for normal president, all they need – free money, free pot, f.a.g marriage, and they want to kill unborn babies, while themselves afraid to get killed, thus makes them “anti-gun” and “liberal”. The only way to get rid of this trash is to stop giving them free money, and this is exactly what I am going to do – in next four years I am not going to make any money and pay any taxes, and I suggest everyone to do the same. Feds can not print paper forever, they can probably make it up to 24T, but this is gonna be it, with today’s rate that should take them couple more years to get to 24 trillion debt, but that will be end of story, end of free money for rats, end of obammas.         • Well, do you realize that 2 families can live next door to each other and, for whatever reasons that happen in life, one family is doing fine and the other is miserable.

          I’m doing fine, better than in November 2008 when Bush was the president. I had a lot of concerns about my future life. Now, things feel pretty good. I remodeled my house in the last year. My health care is cheaper than 5 years ago.

          I guess I’m glad I don’t live in your universe. There are many people who live way, way better than me, too. It all depends. I voted for President Obama cause I’m doing good by him.

If Republicans do block legislation in four years the Democrats will blame Republicans for being partisan and the American people will choose another Democrat. You know it and I know it, that if it does work, the GOP will deny that it worked, such as the stimulus preventing a depression or the GM and Chrysler bailouts saved the auto industry when Romney and some southern congressmen were against it. So, you’re saying ‘If it works,….” is a non-starter like much of what you say.

    Paul Ryan, widely known as a big liar, can go back to the House but he will never, ever have any credibility in the future.

        Intelligence won last night. Big ‘Citizens United’ money, the Koch brothers, Karl Rove and Sheldon Adelson lost and spent hundreds of millions of dollars to lose. Linda MacMahon spent $100 million on 2 senate runs. That tells me the rich need to be taxed way more than they are.

        Patriotism won last night. American citizens standing in line for 2, 4, 8 hours or until 2 in the morning won and are an ispiration for everyone else.

          • Well yes and no. Capital gains is fixed for everyone, but not everyone can afford to invest. And in most cases, income from investments yields higher than a normal paycheck, which I believe is unfair. Yes it is a gamble, but there is no tax relief for gambling in a casino, should be no different for investments. Also in respect to being taxed at an above rate is somewhat true. After deductions, exemptions, and anything else that would lower a person’s tax liability, their effective tax rate in the end, comes to be much lower. Yes the effective tax rate won’t appear on the return, but when you take the amount paid in taxes and contrast it with all earnings, the tax rate essentially ends at a lower percentage. Yes it isn’t illegal due to our tax code, but it isn’t necessarily fair either. I’m with you on your idea to pay our taxes out of our paychecks and not file, because the whole filing process is where the ballroom dance begins. I think we need a higher number of independents in this country, because quite frankly, there are too many party faithfuls that will go along with whatever platform there respective parties are promoting. Yes that is their decision, but it is ignorant to not have a mind of your own (not talking about you personally, unless you are what I just described). I encourage everyone to educate themselves and really look at what you stand for, not what your party stands for. And to also stop watching Fox News and MSNBC, they are both equally ignorant, just on the other side of the aisle.

I am not going to pay anymore taxes here, I will move my capital offshore, and I will apply for welfare, and guess what people, I will qualify for welfare, because I won’t have any income! I guess it is time for vacation, I will enjoy very much my state paid four year long vacation, just sitting home, and do nothing, well, that’s what president obamma wants me to do.   20. Thanks to everyone who supported me for a seat on the AV Healthcare Board of Directors. I only spent 60 dollars in the campaign and I received 10,000 votes for which I eternally grateful. I regret that I won’t be able to serve and help the people of the AV, but that’s life.

    • You probably won’t listen Michael, but if you want to run for a seat like that again, you really should. You made a big mistake, you tried to get Democrats to vote for you, but you kept referring to the Affordable Care Act as Obamacare, and tried to act like you hated it.

      Look at Steve Fox. He may have lost the election because Kern and San Bernardino county voted for that crook Smith, but he won la county and the Antelope Valley because the Demographics are changing here. You could have won too, but you have no clue who your voters are.

      Star Moffatt though.. that one deserved to lose by many, many more votes than she actually lost by. I have never seen any candidate as classless and clueless as that one. Democrats, make real sure she is gone forever!

  21. The Republican Party can make a comeback but it’s going to have to take some serious notes from yesterday’s election.

    1.) Stop demonizing a woman’s right to choose. Saying that a pregnancy through rape is “God’s will”, as Mourdock did, is pure insanity and it cost the GOP a very winnable seat in Missouri. So is saying that a woman’s body is built to endure a rape and not get pregnant, as Arkin did.

    2.) Then you had GOP Congressman from Georgia, Paul Broun, saying that evolution and the Big Bang theory were “tools of the devil”.

    These anti-science and misogynist pronouncements are something I’d expect to hear from a mullah in Pakistan, not an American politician in 2012!

    And, let’s talk about immigration. The GOP is going to have to get over it’s nativist stance on immigrants. It’s that simple!

    3.) Immigrants share a lot of the same economic ideas as Republicans with regard to the entrepreneurial ethos of business and taxes, but the Republicans have let their nativism and xenophobia be their dominant voice when it shouldn’t be.

    4.) Gay marriage. The 35 and under generation could care less and most in this category embrace it. They aren’t paranoid of it. This generation wants jobs, they want some sort of economic security, they want a strong military, they want economic mobility. They either don’t care about gay marriage or they embrace it wholly. But it’s not a big issue.

    I want the Republican Party to succeed and do well because it has to if we are to have a healthy political climate with a good measure of dissent.

    I like the practical center-Right moderates embodied in Chris Christie, Nickey Haley, Bobby Jindahl, John Huntsman, Brian Sandoval and Marco Rubio. These people are well-educated, sensible, practical and the future of the GOP if it is to have a future.

    The GOP needs to move forward and cast aside it’s nativist, anti-science and misogynist members in Mourdock, Arkin and Broun.

    • 100% agree, its done the man is the president it does not matter if you think he was born on mars ar said stupid things as a young man..Most people grow up, If his Mother was American and he was born elsewhere..it makes no difference..its done move on do what you can to keep things going, if you disagree make your case in a smart way and next time another party..I did not vote for him but its done.
