DUI suspect arrested after foot chase

by The AV Times Staff • October 3, 2012

ANTELOPE VALLEY – A 32-year-old suspected DUI driver was arrested late Tuesday night (Oct. 2) after backing into another vehicle and then leading officers on a brief foot chase.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Crown Valley Road, just north of Soledad Canyon Road, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

Acton resident Arthur Jacob Chadwick hit another vehicle as he backed his 2001 BMW out of a parking space at the 49er Bar & Grill, the report states. Witnesses detained Chadwick, but when CHP officers arrived, Chadwick took off, the report states.

He was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and arrested for hit and run and suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officers on scene also recovered a fully loaded weapon in Chadwick’s car while conducting a vehicle inventory, the report states.

Chadwick was booked at the Palmdale Station jail.
