Palmdale deputies arrest two for kidnapping, assault

by The AV Times Staff • September 12, 2012

AGUA DULCE – Deputies Wednesday afternoon arrested two men for allegedly tying up, assaulting, and threatening to kill a 59-year-old woman before kidnapping the woman’s 23-year-old son.

Clyde Richards, 45, and Collin Foster, 46, were booked at the Palmdale Station Wednesday for assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and criminal threats, authorities said.

The following is the press report from the Palmdale Station:

Deputies responded to the location [30038 Briggs Road, Agua Dulce] regarding a ‘kidnapping just occurred’ call. Upon arrival, they contacted a female victim who told them the suspects tied her up, assaulted her and threatened to kill her with a handgun.

After the suspects left, she was able to free herself and discovered her adult son (male victim) was missing and believed he had been kidnapped.

Deputies obtained the suspect vehicle description and broadcasted the information.

A short time later, Santa Clarita Station deputies observed the suspect vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop on the Northbound 5 freeway at McBean Parkway.

Both suspects were located inside the vehicle along with a large amount of marijuana. The male victim was not located inside the vehicle.

Palmdale Sheriff’s deputies conducted a ground search of the area near the incident location.

The male victim was located by a Sheriff’s helicopter hiding in a ravine approximately ¼ mile from the incident location. He said he had been tied up and forced at gun point into the suspect vehicle. The suspects threatened to kill the victim.

The victim was able to free himself, flee from the vehicle and hide in a ravine until located by Sheriff’s deputies.

Both victim’s sustained minor injuries.

Both suspects were transported and booked at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

They were charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping and Criminal Threats.

The ongoing investigation will be handled by the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau.

Crime like this usually isn’t random. The fact that there’s marijuana involved is a big clue. I’m also betting that this probably wasnt the first time those guys visited that particular residence because of the highly secluded nature of that part of the canyon. It really seems like there’s more than meets the eye here. I do feel bad for the woman and her son, though. Going through that level of trauma is awful!

Get some counceling. There is no reason for you to continue with your rage. The sleepless nights do go away, so do the flash backs, the smells and the ptsd.
I too, have been a victim on more than one occassion. I chose life and do not let those events dictate what kind of life I live now. I would never give someone else all my power. Your hatred, anger and need for everyone to know that you were victimized has taken over your being!
You need some peace and love.
