Commemorating the Anniversary of 9/11

by The AV Times Staff • September 11, 2012

PALMDALE – Residents from across the Antelope Valley came out Tuesday morning to remember those who lost their lives in the terror attacks September 11, 2001.

The AV Fallen Heroes Memorial Ceremony was also an opportunity to honor and support our men and women in the armed forces and first responder communities, who protect and serve our country every day.

The ceremony took place at the Fallen Heroes Memorial in front of the Antelope Valley Mall.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and the U.S. Forest Service-Angeles National Forest took park in the event.
Chris Parks of High Desert Broadcasting played bagpipes at the ceremony.
Lancaster Vice Mayor Ron Smith (left) and Palmdale Council Member Tom Lackey spoke at the ceremony.
Sheriff’s Sergeant Theresa Dawson (second from right) coordinated the event.
