Alert neighbors help deputies catch burglary suspects

ANTELOPE ACRES – Lancaster deputies nabbed a man and a teen Monday for stealing a large television, a shotgun and several other items from an Antelope Acres home.

Isaiah Faqua, 20, and a 17-year-old suspect were caught thanks to alert neighbors who helped stop the pair from getting away, authorities said. The suspected thieves are now facing burglary charges.

The following is the press report from the Lancaster Station:

An alert Antelope Acres resident called the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station after seeing a suspicious car at a neighbor’s house on 90th Street West around 11 a.m.  Monday morning. After calling, the neighbor watched as the suspects removed items from the home.

Seeing this, the neighbor alerted several other residents in the area and they contained the surrounding area to prevent the suspect’s escape until the deputies arrived.

Once on scene, the deputies found the suspect’s car parked on the front lawn of the victim’s home with a 17-year-old suspect seated inside.

As they detained the 17-year-old suspect, [Isaiah] Faqua ran from the rear of the property and into a vacant field where he was quickly captured by responding deputies.

Deputies found several stolen items, including a large television and a shotgun, inside the suspect’s car. All of the stolen items were returned to the victim.

Faqua and the juvenile were arrested and face burglary charges.

This incident serves as a great example of the Neighborhood Watch Program and how residents can come together and help fight crime in their area.

Wondering how the thieves got a shotgun when I heard the owner pled to a felony with no guns as a part of the deal.

These little [removed] are lucky that they weren’t shot as Antelope Acres people are known to carry guns. kudos to them for blocking the little shits from trying to leave.

Good for the neighbors, Just knowing that the deputies got right there is a great feeling, and if not the neighbors would have detained them in the meantime! Antelope valley is not going to put up with the little thugs we have around here, All neighbors are now watching out for each other.
