AV Fair ticket sales will support Grace Resources

by The AV Times Staff • August 13, 2012

LANCASTER – Antelope Valley Fair and Grace Resource Center are once again partnering to help eliminate hunger in the Antelope Valley.

The program, entitled “Graceful Giving…a Fair way to end hunger,” involves the sales of AV Fair admissions tickets, normally priced at $9, for a pre-Fair price of $6.

One dollar of every $6 ‘pre-fair ticket’ sold will be given to the Grace Resource Center, helping them in their mission to eliminate hunger and empower those in need through training, education, clothing, shelter and medical care.

Pre-Fair admission tickets are on sale at Albertsons, Vallarta and Vons Supermarkets.

The $6 admission tickets are good for any one day at the 74th Annual Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival (8/17 thru 8/26/2012).

Last year, $40,000 was raised and given to Grace Resource Center to help eliminate hunger in the Antelope Valley.

“Once again, this is a great opportunity for the community to help Grace Resource Center, the A.V. Fair and our other partners continue the fight against hunger and homelessness.  We recently took on the operation of the Lancaster Community Shelter, ‘The Inn-Between,’ which makes this year’s Graceful Giving fundraising campaign more important than ever,” said Steve Baker, Executive Director of Grace Resource Center.

With the goal of doubling $40,000 for 2012, the Fair, through its food concessionaires and Ray Cammack Shows carnival, produced a new coupon book to be used during the Fair (August 17 – 26, 2012) containing coupons worth over $55.00 in savings on food, rides and games.

For every two, $6 Pre-Fair tickets sold, the customer will be given one free Coupon Book while supplies last.

The entire coupon book will need to be presented to each vendor for redemption/removal of coupon. Individual coupons are not valid if removed from the coupon book.

The $6 pre-fair admission tickets with new Coupon books are currently on sale at the Antelope Valley Mall and the A.V. Fair Administration office (Mon-Fri., 8:30 am to 4:30 pm).

Sales of $6 Pre-Fair Admission tickets end at all outlets on Thursday, August 16th.

The new coupon book does not apply to $6 pre-fair admission tickets sold on-line; $10 FunPasses or $20 unlimited rides wristbands sales.
