by K. Enrique • August 3, 2012

Do you recognize this man? If so, contact Lt. Kennedy at 661-272-2506.

PALMDALE – Palmdale detectives are on the hunt for a thief who was caught on video stealing an employee’s purse from a personnel locker in the break room at a 99 Cents Only Store in east Palmdale, authorities said.

The incident happened around 8:50 p.m. on July 25 at the 99 Cents Store at 38360 20th Street East in Palmdale, according to Palmdale Station Lieutenant Cory Kennedy.

“The store management reviewed surveillance video and saw the suspect enter the store, go to the break area and steal the employee’s purse,” Kennedy said.

No association between the store and the suspect has been established. The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic Male approximately 20 to 30 years of age. He was wearing a ball cap and black collared shirt during the incident.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding the purse thief.

Anyone who recognizes the man in this video surveillance image is asked to call the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at 661-272-2400. Callers can remain anonymous.

You may also contact Lt.  Kennedy of the Palmdale Detective Bureau at 661-272-2506.

Most of the news in the AV is crime related. That’s what the news is and AV Times doesn’t sugarcoat it like the AV Press or the Time Warner channel 3 news station. Thank you AV Times. I know what I’m in for when I go to the store, the movie theatre, the mall or the Blvd. This is exactly why I don’t carry a purse or wear jewelry.

      Hi James,
The incident was July 25 not June 25, so the sheriffs are not late with getting the information out. It was my error and I corrected it.
