Go green, and win a new guitar!

by The AV Times Staff • August 1, 2012

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s  “Ready, Set, Go Green!” recycling event will take place Saturday, August 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at DryTown Water Park, 3850-B East Avenue S in Palmdale.

Participants are asked to bring recyclable cans and plastic bottles to DryTown.

In exchange, they will receive raffle tickets to win great prizes including  a Squire Stratocaster Guitar, which was donated by the Guitar Center in Palmdale.

“The more CRV bottles and cans you bring, the more raffle tickets you can get,” said DryTown Recreation Coordinator Laura Rice.

The money generated by the donated recyclables will benefit South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES).

“The purpose of ‘Ready, Set, Go Green!’ is to raise awareness of the importance of recycling,” said Palmdale’s Administrative Analyst Ben Lucha.

Admission to DryTown Water Park is not included.

Waste Management will match all funds generated through residents’ donated recyclables.

For more information call 661-267-5300.
