Senior Summer Theatre Camp presents THE BARD

by The AV Times Staff • July 30, 2012

Theatre Camp offers students ages 13 through 17 instruction in nearly every aspect of live theatre.

PALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse Senior Summer Theatre Camp will present three performances of THE BARD on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3 & 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Palmdale Playhouse, 38334 10th Street East in Palmdale.

Written by Squire Fridell, THE BARD is a Shakespeare anthology.

The show looks at the life and times of William Shakespeare and presents six scenes from five of his best-known plays, including Twelfth Night, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet.

“Expect lots of unexpected surprises,” said director Jay Berckes. “The actors will involve the audience, just as the King’s Men did with the Groundlings. Prithy, come anon and partake in our spectacle!”

Now in its 16th year, the Palmdale Playhouse Senior Summer Theatre Camp offers students, ages 13 through 17, instruction in nearly every aspect of live theatre. New for students this year was the opportunity to film, edit and produce their own television commercial.

Tickets for THE BARD are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students, military and youth 12 and under.

Tickets for upcoming events may be purchased online at www.cityofpalmdale.org/playhouse.  For information please call the Playhouse at 661-267-5684.
