by The AV Times Staff • June 22, 2012

LANCASTER – This Saturday, June 23, the Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation will host its second Annual Gala and Grand Auction, Hollywood: The Golden Age, at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center.

The event, themed around the glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood, will be set to tunes from the bygone era, performed by Lee Matalon’s Little Big Band. In addition, Nicolette Holman will present a tribute performance to Hollywood darling, Marilyn Monroe.

The live Grand Auction will feature numerous luxury items and packages up for bid, including: multiple vacation packages to destinations such as Hawaii, New York, Orlando and Alaska; dinner packages at Gino’s Italian Restaurant and The Lemon Leaf Café; a Hollywood helicopter tour, a 2012-2013 Lancaster Performing Arts Center Season ticket package; premium golf outing packages, a Dodgers Dugout Baseball Package; a basketball signed by Magic Johnson; and more.

Guests will also be treated to hors d’oeuvres prepared by the University of Antelope Valley’s Culinary Arts Department.  The fare will be fashioned from the menus of famous Hollywood landmark restaurants such as Chasen’s, The Brown Derby, The Formosa Café, Musso & Frank Grill, Dan Tana’s, Nate ‘n Al and Pink’s Hot Dogs. Complimentary, top-shelf cocktails will be served by Gino’s Italian Restaurant.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the LPAC Foundation, which subsidizes educational programming, school outreaches, bus funding and ticket scholarships for school performances at LPAC, as well as providing funding for facility enhancements to the Performing Arts Center.

A small number of tickets are still available (at $100 per ticket) for Saturday’s Gala and Grand Auction.

They may be purchased at the LPAC Box office by calling 661-723-5950,. In addition, tickets will be available for purchase at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
