Armed robbers hit Metro PCS Thursday night

LANCASTER – Lancaster detectives are searching for two men who robbed a Metro PCS store at gunpoint Thursday night.

The incident happened around 8:07 p.m. at 1019 West Avenue I, said Lancaster Station Watch Commander Lt. Carter.

“Two male blacks walked in the store yielding a handgun and essentially took money from the cash register and left the location,” Carter said.

The men escaped on foot by running westbound towards 15th Street West behind the store alley and out of sight, according to a station broadcast.

Carter said only one clerk and no customers were in the Metro PCS store during the robbery. The crime was caught on the store’s surveillance camera, he said.

“We have video footage of it, so hopefully we will identify the suspects,” Carter added.

  4. The more Blacks you have in your city, the worse it gets. There is NO city in the USA with a high Black population that is nice, low crime and prosper. I am not a racist, I am realistic

    • their are plenty of blacks and hispanis that are that dont to crimes and are decent people on the a.v ! you make it seem like white people dont commit crimess? when whites have a higher rate at molesting children.. but you want to point the finger on blacks and hispanics!! god doesnt discrimanate on races… so you shoudnt neither !!!!!

      • The community with the highest rate of child molestors is not whites but that is what the minority groups want you to believe. Minority kids who are molested are intimidated or threatened more often with death by those in their community who molest them so 90% of it goes unreported. Im a Latino and was repeatedly molested by men in my own family and outside of my family and threatened to the point of intimidation. When I got older I found out that I am one of countless others. As Latinos start to become more Americanized the truth will come out more and it will be shocking.

    Oh, they would have been there if there was a white security guard that shot these guys during the robbery.

    Why doesn’t the black community step up and turn in their criminals instead of protecting them behind a cloak of racism.

No, no problems here in the AV… No no problems in this town with young black men victimizing innocent people… the only problem here is a bunch or racist white folks picking on minorities for being on section 8…gimme a break people in this town sound racist because they are genuinely in fear because of an undesireable influx over the past decade of young black men who victimize our community… I challenge somebody to compile the arrest stats by race where the suspect was unknown to the victim ( ie robbery, assault, burglary, carjacking) the type of crimes that normal harworking people find themselves the victim of… people are in fear and not because they are racist, its because they are smart enough to identify a pattern!!!

  8. Don’t forget to thank the prison and the wonderful families it brought to our valley! The low rents w/section 8 subsidizing. Do any of you remember the original deal re: the prison? Where is the prison that was to be built in L.A. when this one was built? Of course, I forgot.. we are the dumping grounds for L.A. they wouldn’t want a prison in their backyard and have these no-goods in their neighborhoods. How many of these prisoners are from the A.V.? We will continue to have robberies, burglaries, murders and GTA because of this. Get used to it my neighbors!

      The City of Lancaster reaps the sales tax revenues of the prison and population, visiting families and friends staying at local hotels, eating at local establishments… Etc… As far as wonderful families… Check your own closet before you cast stones.

These people typically dont have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of… What do you think, they go visit Dad in prison then go to bex for lunch and shop the blvd…. get a clue im not knocking the people who visit relatives there, but I know most of those families are destitute and struggling to get by…
