Flag Day Ceremony Thursday at Poncitlán Square

American FlagPALMDALE – The Antelope Valley Service Organization Association (AVSOA) in collaboration with the City of Palmdale will hold its annual Flag Day Ceremony on Thursday, June 14 at 11 a.m. at the flagpole in Poncitlán Square, 38315 9th St. East in Palmdale.

Representatives from the Palmdale City Council will give a welcoming address.

Daniel W. Kirmel will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Chaplain Gary Bassett of Richard K. Carlson VFW Post 3552 will begin the ceremony with a special invocation, which will be followed by the pledge of allegiance lead by Boy Scout Troops.

AV Teen Idol Winner Miranda Hickman will sing the National Anthem, Phil Roberts of the TREA Enlisted Association will sing “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” and Viola Lawrence with the Daughter’s of the American Revolution will recite “Flag Day.”

Bobby Breech, Chairman of AVSOA will end the program with some closing remarks.
