PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s public works department is temporarily closing 12th Street East in Palmdale from Wednesday, May 23 to Friday, May 25 for emergency sewer repairs.
The sewer repair work will be done on 12th Street East, and the road will be closed from Avenue Q to Palmdale Boulevard, except for local traffic.
The City of Palmdale’s public works department assumed responsibility for the operations and maintenance of sewer pipes used by residential and commercial property owners in the City of Palmdale on July 1, 2009 after Palmdale City Council’s decision to withdraw from the Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District (CSMD) of Los Angeles County.
The City currently employs a maintenance schedule that provides for a thorough cleaning of all the City’s approximately 400 miles of sewers over five years.
