UPDATED: Sex offender sweep in Lancaster nets two arrests

LANCASTER – Authorities arrested two people Friday during an early morning sweep of registered sex offenders in the Lancaster and Lake Los Angeles areas.

Roberto Briceno, 24, of Lancaster and Guillermo Hernandez, 54, of Lake Los Angeles were arrested for violating the conditions of their parole.

The following is the press release from the Lancaster Station:

On Friday, May 11, 2012, detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Team and the County-Wide COPS Bureau, along with the United States Marshal’s Office conducted a sex registrant compliance operation in the City of Lancaster and the unincorporated area of Lake Los Angeles in an effort to monitor and track registered sex offenders on parole in the area.

The SAFE Team worked closely with the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station in ensuring the registrants in the respective areas were complying with their registration requirements.

There were a total of 24 compliance checks conducted throughout the Lancaster and Lake Los Angeles areas. Two sex registrants were arrested for violating their conditions of parole and were reported to the California Department of Corrections –Parole Division in Lancaster.

The Los Angeles County Regional SAFE Team is a multi-agency task force specifically designed to monitor and track registered sex offenders in Los Angeles County.

It is comprised of members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Probation Department, United States Marshal’s Office and the California Department of Corrections Parole Division.
