Palmdale to host blood drive Monday

by The AV Times Staff • April 6, 2012

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, April 9, at the American Red Cross’ Bloodmobile, which will be stationed at Poncitlán Square.

The blood drive is open to City of Palmdale employees as well as residents who wish to donate blood.

“The need for blood is great, and if anyone would like to donate blood, please give me a call at 267-5229,” said Administrative Technician and Blood Drive Coordinator Kathy Inman.

The City of Palmdale hosts three blood drives  annually in conjunction with its employee wellness program.

According to American Red Cross statistics, three lives can be saved for every pint of donated blood.

Last year, City of Palmdale employees and residents combined to donate 100 pints of blood to the American Red Cross.

“We’re looking to top 100 pints this year,” Inman said. “With the community’s help, I know we can do it!”
