‘The Long Fall’ is Palmdale Mystery Book Club’s April Choice

by The AV Times Staff • April 3, 2012

PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library’s Mystery Book Discussion Group “Mystery, Murder and Mayhem” will discuss the book The Long Fall by Walter Mosley on Wednesday, April 18, at 7 p.m., at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway in Palmdale.

Leonid McGill is an ex-boxer, hard drinker, and an old school private investigator working in New York City and trying to put his past life behind him. McGill is turning over a new leaf, deciding to go from “crooked to slightly bent.”

But he soon learns that it is not that easy when someone like Tony  “The Suit” Towers expects you to do a job; when an Albany PI hires you to track down four men known only by their youthful street names; and when your 16-year-old son, Twill, is getting in over his head with a suicidal girl.

Mosley is the author of more than 37 critically acclaimed books, including the major bestselling mystery series featuring Easy Rawlins.  The Long Fall is the first Leonid McGill Mystery.

The Mystery, Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Discussion Group meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m., at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center.  The group is open to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.   The discussion also provides disabled access with 72 hours’ notice.
