LANCASTER – A teacher’s aid who last month pleaded no contest to sexually molesting a 13-year-old student whom she tutored was sentenced to state prison Thursday.
Holly Marie Polson, 35, of Palmdale was sentenced to six years in state prison by Superior Court Judge Hayden Zacky. Additionally, Polson was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and received a 10-year stay-away order from the victim.
Deputy District Attorney Valerie Little of the Antelope Valley Branch Office prosecuted the case.
Polson pleaded no contest on Feb. 29 to four counts of lewd act on a child under 14. She has been in custody since her arrest on June 14, 2011.
Polson, who was an instructional aide at Shadow Hills Intermediate School, admitted to an ongoing sexual relationship with the student between May 29 and June 10, 2011. The incidents took place in a classroom and in her car.
The boy’s mother alerted law enforcement when she learned of the relationship.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
