Help Palmdale detectives find group that brutally attacked 15-year-old boy

by The AV Times Staff • March 23, 2012

PALMDALE – Palmdale detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying up to 10 assailants who viciously attacked a 15-year-old student as he was walking home from school last week. The boy was treated at the hospital for multiple kicks to his head and is also undergoing surgery to repair several of his teeth which were kicked out during the attack. Anyone with information regarding the attack is asked to contact Detective Bergo at 661- 272-2419.

The following is the news release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station:

Palmdale Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying several suspects who attacked a victim near Cactus Middle School on March 14, 2012.

The 15-year-old victim in this assault was walking home from school near the 3200 Block of East Avenue R-8, when a group of up to ten Black juveniles approached him and challenged him to a fight.

The suspects surrounded the victim and began punching him while several other juveniles watched.

The victim continued to defend himself from the group of suspects until he fell to the ground. The suspects continued to assault him by punching and kicking him in the face and head. The victim was finally able to get to his feet and escape the onslaught of the attackers.

After arriving home, the victim was treated at a local hospital for multiple kicks to his head resulting in swelling and shoe impressions left in his skin. The victim is also undergoing surgery to repair several of his teeth which were kicked out during the attack.

Palmdale Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the victim’s attackers. They are additionally asking any witnesses to the brutal attack to please come forward. Individuals with information regarding the attack can either contact Detective Bergo at 661- 272-2419, or they can report information anonymously by contacting “Crime Stoppers” at 800- 222-TIPS (8477), texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or using the website lacrimestoppers.org.

I also believe that reports are either thrown in the trash or not taken at all.

Hey [removed], why don’t you all stop arguing about racism and forget about your ignorant thoughts long enough to wish well the poor kid who got jumped. Taking [removed] about other people isn’t going to help anything ever, so knock it off. Grow up, its 2012 get over yourselves.

Reading this story makes me sad. Reading the comments makes me ashamed to say I grew up in Palmdale. What is wrong with you people? Clearly you have lost your ability to be human beings and are just filled with blind hate. What’s wrong is wrong – it has nothing to do with color. I’m so glad I moved away and have no intention of ever moving back. Blame everyone else and hate everyone else for everything that happens. The “us vs. them” mentality is working really well to make things better, isn’t it? Just keep your head in the sand and keep on hating. Perpetuating ignorance apparently is the only thing you’ve accomplished in your lifetime. I feel sorry for you.

What do you mean you people…. You racist how dare you!!!! And what would your solution be to the problems in this valley? The first line was a joke, the second a serious question. I am genuinely curious of what you feel needs to be done to help this valley get better…

In my mind “you people” simply means “People of the Antelope Valley” Personally I am fed up with the way ALL people treat each other. No love, respect or compassion for each other. It is a VERY sad situation.
Each one of you should be more careful with your words. You can either build each other up or tear each other down. Choose the positive one and let go of your hatred and anger.

People need the Lord. Those that know Him are all one in His family and there is no race.
Wake up everyone before it’s too late.

If the victim is hispanic ( as reported by other outlets) and the suspects are black this should be a hate crime. Hate crime laws are just yet another way that the powers that be keep minorities down. If I punch you in the face because you annoy me its one punishment, if I punch you in the face because of your race then its a greater penalty. Thats madness… both are crimes both happened for the same reason ( ignorance, intolerance and anger). I cannot fathom how this doesnt enrage minority groups… they have asked and allowed government to tell them they arent equal to everyone else and need special legislation to take care of them… Martin Luther King must be rolling over in his grave! When will minorities say enough we arent special we dont need special consideration. How could minority groups advocate for affirmative action for that matter… its tanamount to saying yes we know we are inferior thats why we want special treatment. Why advocate for this madness are create racial divide that is inevitable when a person in the majority is told the reason they cant go to college is because there is a quota for minorities…. How about we unite as human beings and demand that in matters of college admissions grants scholarships loans etc institutions may not ask for race period. As Americans we must stand and be judged by our achievements and character……

who are the landlords of all theses section 8 properties. How come the Mayor can not meet with these people and ask them for help with this alleged problem. I hear that some of these properties are owned by sheriffs. If there is no section 8 and no jobs in this town who will be renting these properties. Who will be able to pay what section 8 pays these owners? All this hatred….I think the sect 8 issue is a smoke screen for a deeper problem. It will be a waste of tax dollars to file a frivolous law suit. Where is the proof of the allegations. Oh yeah everyone in this valley is medically at risk not just minorities. How come the beloved mayor is not fighting to get more resources in this town?

To answer one person, when Eric Holder became the Department of Justice top dog. Its only a hate crime if a group of whites attacks a black person.

Right on the money. What I love is when they interview the ghetto parents and they say “we came up here to the AV to get away from all that crap.” Newsflash….your family IS “the crap.” Go back “down below!” I agree with the other posters…where are Darren Parker and the other race baiters? Oh that’s right….the victim is Hispanic, per the AVP anyway.

Our decision to leave the Antelope Valley to raise our children in small town America in the midwest was made partly because of stories like this. Palmdale started off as a great area for families but has turned into something akin to a warzone. I wonder why no one saw anything…that area (20th St East and R-8) was well traveled and with the population higher I would bet that hasn’t changed much. Get the riff-raff out and bring the AV back to its families! God bless the injured boy.Prayers for a fast recovery.

Boys from Lancaster High and Amagosa Middle school come into our neighborhood sometimes after school to fight. Other days, they walk through, (even though none of them live in out neighborhood) yelling and intimidating anyone they see outside. Calling people names and telling you to get back into your house. If you dare tell them to move on, they get up in your face (literally),scream profanities and make threats. They told one lady they were gonna come back that night, kill her family and burn her house down. They did come back that night and egg her house. They taunted her about it the following week.
I feel bad for the kid who got beat up. However, even if they catch the kids who did it, nothing will happen to them. Meantime, the video will be on Facebook or YouTube.

People like these kids go around and bully others throughout their young lives, never giving a thought to the Law of Consequences and Karma and what will come back to them eventually. They just can’t help themselves and they are most likely emboldened to the point of doing it again because they got away with it this time. The down the road when Karma strikes and they are sitting in the back of the squad car, Mama will be wailing about her “precious baby!!!!” TCAL will come out and proclaim that “another innocent black boy” is being “profiled”, et al. And none of them will ever bother to consider that actions have consequences. It’s the law of nature and it’s encoded into the universe.

Those beast are bad only when they are in a flock of vicious hyenas.
Oh yeah I forgot they did it because they were fearing for their lives of a harmless victim.
I do wish from the bottom of my heart that the victim will have a soon recovery of this inhuman and callous attack.
I pray for him and his family as I also pray that his enemies get caught soon……..

Whats really SAD but TRUE is your comment! If the victim was white he must have had it coming! If he was black, it was injust! What if he was yellow? HMMMM?? Since when does justice come in different colors? Thought justice was blind. Too bad people cant see what is wrong is just that! WRONG! Not to say…wait what color was he so I can then say if it was wrong. What about being out numbered? HMMM? What about not wanting to fight? HMMM? Being only 15yrs old? Wow?..Lucky we dont come “Gibbs” you upside your head! THE MILITARY are out there blindly protecting “OUR” Country. No matter the “COLOR” of OUR PEOPLE. If you have a “problem” with that, as in the “COLOR” of the people in which they are protecting in our Country, (we all want to be justified you know) step on the other side of the lines…Im sure they wont mind…..
